Leadership
Deputy Publisher Amber Flame
is a multi-genre writer, educator and arts administrator serving as Program Director for Hedgebrook, a premier writing residency for women-identified writers. Her mission is joy. Flame is the author of the poetry collections Ordinary Cruelty and the forthcoming apocrifa; her poetry, essays, and fiction appear in print and elsewhere, and her writing has earned awards from Hedgebrook, Vermont Studio Center, Jack Straw, Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, and YEFE NOF. She takes in love stories as a joy-practice and really digs the secret thrill of reading a deliciously dirty story in public places.
Publisher Elaina Ellis
is an editor, writer, and creative consultant who previously served as Editor at Copper Canyon Press, a Pulitzer Prize-winning publisher dedicated to poetry. She has acquired and/or edited books by bestselling authors, including Ocean Vuong’s Night Sky with Exit Wounds, Kayleb Rae Candrilli’s Water I Won’t Touch, and Akwaeke Emezi’s Content Warning: Everything, and helped publish the work of Richard Siken, Jericho Brown, Aimee Nezhukamathil, and June Jordan, among many other literary luminaries. Elaina has earned fellowships and awards from Jack Straw, Vermont Studio Center, Lambda Literary, Mineral School, Artist Trust, 4Culture, and Seattle Office of Arts & Culture. She is a lifelong lover of romcoms, shame-watches The Bachelor, and is inspired by the healing potential of contemporary romance fiction.
is the parent publisher of Generous Press, led by Founder & Preseident Rebekah Borucki. Row House is committed to “Raising the Volume on Voices That Matter” and publishing books at the intersection of literature and social justice.
